Adeline's Favorites:
Pink! If it isn't pink, she does not want to wear it! She often tells me she wants to wear something 'ballet.'. By this she means something pink, sparkly and like a tutu!
Sleeping Beauty-Adeline just looooves sleeping beauty. She wants to watch the movie over and over again and loves to have anything with sleeping beauty, princess aurora on it.
Cute Things She Says:
What's that for?-she says this when she hears a strange sound
I want to hold you-meaning she wants to be picked up and held
Him's head-instead of saying his she says 'Him's'
I poo-ped- as in poop-ed, she says this instead of I pooped
When we were eating raspberries, I asked Adeline if they were cute, and she explained to me they look cute like little, fuzzy babies.
'Fridger' for refrigerator.
'It's too fit' meaning something fits too tight

'My Fountain!'
Adeline has a new obsession- water fountains, the kind in ponds or gardens. She gets sooo excited when she sees one! We have a large fountain at the entrance of our town home complex that Adeline calls 'her fountain' and she squeals in delight at the sight of it. Adeline just loves water and refers to any body of water no matter how large or small as a 'tubby.'
Adeline has begun to play with Barbies and little dolls other than baby dolls. She calls any dolls to play with that aren't baby dolls 'her girls'. It is so fun to watch her imagine with them and hear her play talk with them. Often they are sharing, hugging or kissing which I would like to think has something to do with the loving atmosphere we try to create for her. She also likes to pretend that her 'girls' are going to dance class. We try to motivate Adeline to work on potty training by saying she can go to dance class when she is potty trained.
Like most little girls Adeline loves the Disney princesses especially Sleeping Booty lol she has trouble saying beauty so it comes put as booty.

Our First Long Trip Away from Adeline
Joe and I are leaving for Las Vegas in two days. Adeline knows we are going on a 'big buhbye' on a plane and that we are going to bring her back 'a present and a kiss.'when I first asked her what we should bring her back she said a kitty! I am really looking forward to getting away from it all with my husband but it sure is going to be hard to say goodbye to our sweetheart.
Some New Things Adeline Says:
Pack back for back pack
Hunky for hungry
She loves looking at planes, trucks and buses and gets really excited when she sees them saying 'look mommy!'
She has begun to tell stories of events that have happened and she uses this serious story telling face that I adore.
She has started to have an opinion on what she wears for the day which has made our morning routine quite interesting she likes to pick t shirts and patterned pants-she has a care bear shirt that she asks me every morning if it's clean so she can wear it.

Adeline's First Communion
You just never know what a 2 year old is going to do! Last Sunday at church Adeline decided to have her first communion. We always take Adeline up to communion so she can be a part of the service and receive a blessing from the pastor. He unexpectedly asked if she could try a wafer, I thought well why not, if the pastor thinks it is ok than I feel it should be fine...well Adeline saw everyone dipping their wafer into the chalice of wine or or grape juice and she decided to dip her wafer in too! Luckily she dipped it into the grape juice b/c she quickly bit the wafer after that! Oh dear....

Saying Goodbye to a Dear Friend
In March 2009, Joe and decided we needed to add some 'spice' to our life. After some research, we decided on a hedgehog and got our sweet Bowser. The very next day I took a pregnancy test, with Bowser snuggled into her backpack I would carry her around in and found out I was pregnant with Adeline, our lives were definitely about to get very interesting. Bowser has been a sweet addition to our lives and Adeline really enjoyed playing with her, she was never afraid to touch her b/c of her spines. Adeline would get excited and in a hushed voice say 'It's Bowser' whenever she heard Bowser rustle in her cage or begin to run on her wheel. Last night we buried Bowser in my mom's garden, and explained to Adeline that Bowser is now in heaven with Papa. We miss you little sweetie.
It's Potty Time!!!
We have started to encourage Adeline to use her princess potty as she becomes more of a toddler and less of a 'baby.' She really is starting to turn into a little girl instead of our 'baby' and today she went pee-pee in her princess potty for the very first time! A friend suggested to bring the princess potty into the bathroom when I am going potty to encourage Adeline and it totally worked! Up until now she has sat on her potty but never actually used it. It's so amazing to watch her learn and grow.

It's Mommy's
Adeline has definitely entered the stage of identifying ownership, most items are Adeline's or Mommy's and sometimes...daddy's. It seems very important to her when she knows an item is mine like my wallet, glasses, or jewelry, she brings it over to me, looking at anyone around with suspicion and proudly hands me the item stating 'It's Mommy's.' A few items can quickly turn from mommy's into Adeline's when she wants something like my wallet, glasses or jewelry!
I also wanted to add that Adeline has started to identify colors, right now she is pretty good at pointing out green, blue, purple and pink. Our favorite colors!
I also have had to start watching what I listen to on the radio/CDs. Adeline looooves music, singing and dancing! I do like rap music, including Nicki Minaj, Kanye West so unfortunately we have to be careful b/c of swear words and lyrics. I changed a Nicki Minaj song to a different song on the CD and for the first time Adeline objected saying 'heeeyyy' b/c she was singing along!

Reasons Why I can Never Take Adeline into Bath and Body Works
In addition to traditional toddler toys, like baby dolls, books, noise makers...Adeline looooves candles and any bottle that looks like lotion. When she has a candle or lotion bottle she wants everyone to enjoy in its scent as well! She frequently asks to investigate or hold any of my lotion bottles and likes to carry them around. So yeah...Bath and Body Works... I'm sure it would be a very silly scene!

A Sunday School Stinky
I love teaching Sunday School. This opportunity allows me to be a teacher once a week for a little bit with my favorite age group, fourth graders. I miss teaching dearly and this is a perfect outlet for me! Some Sunday's I have to bring Adeline with b/c Joe is on call. It is fun when she is with, the kids love having her around, but you never know what two year old may do! This Sunday everything was going well...Adeline was intently watching the kids do their activities and listened while we read the Bible story of Jesus getting Baptized when all of a sudden I smelled something....
When Adeline farts it smells like she has poopies, so I was hoping that was I sniffed b/c when she does have poopies she likes to share it very loudly and I knew that would get the kids going...understandably! Well...one second it was quiet and the next my 2 year old proudly states "I have poopies." Of coarse the kids started laughing and Adeline knew she had their attention, she promptly begins to run around the kids in a circle giggling over and over " I have poopies--peeeuuuu." At least our lesson for the day was about being Baptized to get clean!

Night Night Time
Adeline actually does not fight us too much to go to sleep. She enjoys the nights she gets a 'tubbie' but hates having her hair washed because the water can get in her eyes-mommy has always hated that too. Adeline calls her little toes 'pinks.' I think because we have painted them pink a few times, which really entertains her, and so she says 'night night' pinks when she slips them into her footie pajamas, sometimes mommy and daddy even have to kiss them goodnight. We read her a bedtime story every night and she usually wants us to read her 'Mommy has a Tattoo,' the book has been loved so much that it is already worn. Adeline has two glow worm dolls she has to sleep with, but does not play with them otherwise and they are her 'night night buddies.'

Welcome to Our Wonderland II
Last night we gave Adeline peas for dinner and instead of eating them she proceeded to bounce them off her highchair tray and off the spout of her sippy cup. These are the memories I never want to forget even when we are, God willing, grey and wrinkley! I want to remember her favorites as they change through the years and all the precious moments.
At 26 months her favorites:
Food: hot dogs, "ohgurt" aka yogurt, "pee puffs" aka Kicks cereal, grapes and chocolate milk
Books: Mommy has a Tattoo, Clark the Toothless Shark, Goodnight Moon
Toys: Baby dolls, books, squinkies and.. candles unlit of coarse
Characters: Bubble Guppies, Spongebob
Movies: Rio, Lion King, Curious George
